EV and related incentives are ever changing. Here is what we know about. If we have missed
anything, or if details have changed, please comment below and we will update as
necessary.
Federal EV Incentive — Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP)
In February 2026, the Federal Government launched the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program
(EVAP), replacing the previous iZEV program which ended in 2025.
Rebate schedule:

These amounts decrease annually through 2030 when the program ends.
Eligibility requirements:
- Vehicle must be priced under $50,000 (final transaction value
including dealer-installed options) - Vehicle must be manufactured in Canada or a country with an active free
trade agreement - Canadian-built vehicles are exempt from the $50,000 price
cap - Limit of one rebate per person for the duration of the
program
The rebate is applied at point of sale — no additional paperwork required.
Provincial EV Incentive:
There are no provincial incentives available for Albertans at this time. If you want that
to change (as we do), please contact your local MLA.
EV Charging Installation Funding
Alberta Municipalities Electric Vehicle Charging Program
Alberta Municipalities and the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) offer
funding of up to 46% of project costs for EV charger installations:
- Up to $5,000 per connector for Level 2 chargers
- Up to $75,000 per charger for DC fast chargers
- Maximum $100,000 per location, $300,000 per applicant
Eligible applicants include businesses, condo corporations, cooperatives, non-profits,
municipalities, Indigenous communities, schools, and other organizations. The program runs
until March 31, 2026 and is currently accepting waitlist applications. Details at Alberta
