With the federal EV incentive now in effect, we thought it would be interesting to run some quick numbers to see what sort of environmental benefit it may have:
One issue we acknowledge with the above is that the calculations are based on Alberta’s grid (thanks to our tool thegrid.albertaev.ca) but the majority of the vehicles are going to end up in regions with much cleaner grids (BC, Ontario, and Quebec). Thus, in reality, the numbers will be MUCH better than represented in the calculation.
